In October 2009 we reached the 20th anniversary of the founding of the organisation which was celebrated with a meal in October at the Crown Inn, Pulham Market with members past & present. For more details click here.
We also had an extra meeting not on the programme cards. This was be an event to mark the 2009 Christmas season which was held in Rickinghall Village Hall on the evening of December 10th. To bring their twentieth year to a close, the Heritage Circle wanted a very special speaker for their final meeting of the year. They certainly found this in Charlie Haylock, author and raconteur who kept his audience of Heritage Circle members and friends greatly amused and interested with his tales of Suffolk village life and things not a lot of people know. Particularly impressive was his interpretation and explanation of the various dialects and ways of speaking from all over Britain, Eire and even Australia. The evening also included an excellent buffet supper and Christmas raffle.
